Day 14: Your Everyday Calling ☎️
Have you ever found yourself waiting for a dramatic, life-altering moment? A "Damascus Road" experience that will shake you to your core and unveil your life's grand purpose? Well, let's break free from that expectation.
You're already called.
As we dive into the life of Jesus, a clear picture emerges. He didn't wait for a specific moment; He lived His calling every day. His life was a testament to His mission, a masterpiece painted stroke by stroke.
So, what's your masterpiece? 🖼️🎨
It's not about a grand, singular act. It's about living a life that reflects the teachings of Jesus, right where you are. The Sermon on the Mount isn't just a set of rules; it's a blueprint for a life well-lived.
What does This Calling Entail?
* To be God's Ambassador ✨💫: We're called to share God's love and truth with the world.
* To Combat Darkness 🔆🔦: To stand against evil and be a beacon of hope.
* To Extend a Helping Hand 🤝🙌🏽: To offer compassion, healing, and life to those in need.
* To Serve Humbly🤗🙏🏽: To put others before ourselves, just as Jesus did.
Don't wait for a special call 📞
Your calling isn't a distant dream; it's a daily reality. By living out these principles, you're not just fulfilling a duty; you're living a life of purpose, impact, alignment and eternal significance.
As you embrace this calling, you may discover even greater ones. But remember, if we neglect this everyday calling or falter in the face of challenges, we risk missing the deeper purpose God has for our lives.
Are you ready to answer the call?
Reference Scriptures - pray this prayer as you open your heart, mind and bible
Heavenly Father, May Your Holy Spirit illuminate my mind with a deep understanding of Your Word. Grant me an intense desire to seek You daily through Scripture. Empower me to discern Your divine will and purpose for my life. Shield me from distractions and fill my heart and mind with Your enlightening revelation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“I have commissioned them to represent me just as you commissioned me to represent you.”
John 17:18 TPT
{This verse is loaded!! So first things first Christ was sent by God to represent him to the world and this is Christ speaking to the father letting him know the SAME way you sent me to represent you I now send THEM (which is us!!) to represent Me….now a way to remind yourself of this is replace the word them in the verse with your name do you see how powerfully convicting this verse is!!}
“And I’m going to keep that celebration going because I know how it’s going to turn out. Through your faithful prayers and the generous response of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, everything he wants to do in and through me will be done. I can hardly wait to continue on my course. I don’t expect to be embarrassed in the least. On the contrary, everything happening to me in this jail only serves to make Christ more accurately known, regardless of whether I live or die. They didn’t shut me up; they gave me a platform! Alive, I’m Christ’s messenger; dead, I’m his prize. Life versus even more life! I can’t lose.”
Philippians 1:19-21 MSG
{This verse just reinforces the fact that we are CALLED to allow the spirit to work through us wherever we are Paul was in prison and knew the will of whatever the father wanted to do bin & through him would be accomplished and as believers and reflections of Christ we are to have the same thought process even the same sentiment of being alive I’m Christ’s messenger and dead in his prize are you ready and willing to die for Christ whether that spiritually or physically really think about it 🤔 and ask God to help you in fully surrendering}
“Throughout our history God has spoken to our ancestors by his prophets in many different ways. The revelation he gave them was only a fragment at a time, building one truth upon another. But to us living in these last days, God now speaks to us openly in the language of a Son, the appointed Heir of everything, for through him God created the panorama of all things and all time. The Son is the dazzling radiance of God’s splendor, the exact expression of God’s true nature—his mirror image! He holds the universe together and expands it by the mighty power of his spoken word. He accomplished for us the complete cleansing of sins, and then took his seat on the highest throne at the right hand of the majestic One.”
Hebrews 1:1-3 TPT
{We used to only have access to God and his revelations/knowledge through the prophets and only in pieces like a puzzle but now as we speak in English as our language God the father’s language IS CHRIST…it sounds weird but that’s how God speaks to us through the story of Christ and we already know the end he accomplished the COMPLETE CLEANSING so we are to walk in alignment while we’re stuck in the middle of the story 😲 also Christ is the reflection of God and we are CALLED to be Christlike so that is what we are to display in the middle & we do that by connecting with and being led by the power of the Holy Spirit through the power of his spoken word}
“But the one who indulges in a sinful life is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God was revealed was to undo and destroy the works of the devil.”
1 John 3:8 TPT
{One of Jesus’ purpose was to destroy the works of the devil and when we operate from the spirit of the Lord our love makes us not want to sin anymore but if you know what is right and continue to sin you are exhibiting traits of the devil…so who’s are you because this verse is letting us know your actions are the true answer to that question}
“I am the Door; anyone who enters in through Me will be saved (will live). He will come in and he will go out [freely], and will find pasture. The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”
John 10:9-10 AMPC
{Jesus came to give us life freely and the ability to enjoy life to the full till it overflows let that sink in…. The overflow is where we come in we are called as a response to the love and life we’ve been given to go out and help the people we encounter in the places we work and live which is why our calling isn’t a set thing but yet a way of life to live wherever you have been placed because God put you there for a reason it’s time to give abundant life to someone else so that they can give it out as well!!}
“and if one of you wants to be first, you must be the slave of the others— like the Son of Man, who did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life to redeem many people.””
Matthew 20:27-28 GNT
{I don’t think it can get much clearer Christ is telling us to imitate him in the sense of expecting to, looking forward to & seeking out opportunities to serve others}

A Lighthouse Within
Find a quiet, comfortable space where you won't be disturbed. Begin by taking a few deep breaths, inhaling slowly and exhaling fully. Close your eyes and focus on your breath.
Imagine a serene coastline. The sun is setting, casting a golden glow across the sky. The waves gently lap at the shore, their rhythmic sound soothing your mind and body. In the distance, a majestic lighthouse stands tall. Its white, towering structure contrasts beautifully against the twilight sky. A bright beam of light emanates from its top, cutting through the darkness and guiding ships to safety.
This lighthouse is a symbol of your divine calling. It represents the light within you, a light that is meant to shine brightly for the world. As you approach the lighthouse, you feel a sense of peace and tranquility. You climb the winding staircase, each step bringing you closer to your purpose.
At the top, you reach the lantern room. The view from here is breathtaking. The vast expanse of the ocean stretches out before you, and the city lights twinkle in the distance. The lantern, fueled by the Spirit of God, shines brightly. Its light fills the room, warming your heart and soul. You feel a surge of energy and inspiration.
You realize that you, too, are a beacon of light. Your calling is to shine brightly for Christ, to guide others to safety. Take a moment to feel the warmth of the lantern's light. Let it fill you with hope, love, and purpose.
As you descend the stairs, carry the light of the lighthouse with you. Let it shine through your words, actions, and thoughts. Heavenly Father, we gather to express our gratitude for the unique purpose You’ve placed in each of our lives. We humbly ask for Your divine guidance to illuminate Your specific will for us. Grant us the strength to faithfully follow Your calling, even in challenging times. May we be filled with humility, eager to serve others. And lastly, Lord, empower us with boldness to share Your love and truth with the world around us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen. Take a few deep breaths, and slowly open your eyes. Continue to carry the light of the lighthouse with you throughout your day.
Dear Lord, I thank You for the special purpose You’ve given me. Please guide me to understand Your specific plan for my life. Grant me the strength to live out Your calling, even when it’s difficult. May I always have a humble heart, ready to serve others. And Lord, give me the courage to share Your love with those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
