Gorgeous 4 God’s Glory: A 21 Day Journey to Self Love, Self Care & Divine Purpose
Day 17: Godly Self Care
Tired of Self-Care That's All Talk? 🥱
Let's be real, we've all seen those glossy Instagram posts: "Eat whatever you want! Binge-watch Netflix! You deserve it!" 💅 But does that really nourish your soul?
True self-care isn't about selfish indulgence. It's about sustainable living. It's about taking care of yourself so you can take care of others.
Jesus, the ultimate self-care guru, didn't just retreat to a quiet cabin. He engaged with people, listened to their needs, and sacrificed for their well-being.
So, what does godly self-care really look like?
* Engage, Don't Escape: 🔌 When life gets tough, it's tempting to check out. But true self-care means plugging in to something bigger than ourselves. It's about turning to God, pouring out our hearts, and trusting in His promises.
* Tend to Your Needs: 🌱 Ignoring your needs doesn't make them disappear. It just makes them harder to deal with later. Self-care isn't about numbing your pain, but facing it head-on with God's help.
* Nourish Your Soul: 🧘♀️ Self-care isn't just about activities; it's about a lifestyle. It's about prioritizing rest, healthy habits, and spiritual practices that fuel your soul.
Why does this matter?
* More energy to serve others 💪
* Deeper joy and peace 🙏
* Better equipped to handle life's challenges 🛡️
Let's ditch the superficial self-care and embrace a true self-care that honors God and nourishes our souls. Are you ready to start living a more fulfilling life?

Reference Scriptures - pray this prayer as you open your heart, mind and bible
Heavenly Father, May Your Holy Spirit illuminate my mind with a deep understanding of Your Word. Grant me an intense desire to seek You daily through Scripture. Empower me to discern Your divine will and purpose for my life. Shield me from distractions and fill my heart and mind with Your enlightening revelation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:7 TPT
{True Self care is acknowledging all the stress we’re under and bringing it to God to allow his peace to take over but you must pour it all out or cast it upon him and he will care for you the way you need to be cared for}
“As often as possible Jesus withdrew to out-of-the-way places for prayer.”
Luke 5:16 MSG
{Jesus had the right idea we can’t and aren’t meant to do this life alone so as often as possible we need to unplug from society and plug into our source of life}
“One day soon afterward Jesus went up on a mountain to pray, and he prayed to God all night.”
Luke 6:12 NLT
{This was right before Jesus picked his 12 apostles and this was the pattern of Christ before any important decisions or big events in his life he sought out the father through devoted, intentional prayer time in order to receive insight on the will of the lord so he could be in complete alignment}
“There were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his disciples didn't even have time to eat. So he said to them, “Let us go off by ourselves to some place where we will be alone and you can rest a while.””
Mark 6:31 GNT
{In their well doing they failed to recognize their own needs and Christ was able to see what they needed and allow them the space to get rested up and take a break. We really can look at this two ways one in the sense that that’s what the Holy spirit will do for us now, know our needs even when we’re to busy to recognize them so living by his leading he would direct us to a time of rest when we need it most, but a second interpretation is that we should be aware of those around us as well and notice when they are so focused they neglect their needs and be led to help them meet their own needs}
“Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.””
Matthew 22:37-40 MSG
{How can we expect to love others if we don’t love ourselves? Jesus calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves. But how can we love ourselves if we’re constantly neglecting our needs? This is truly the basis of self love and self care society has put their own twist/spin and definition on it but it’s definitely biblical we just have to align with the way God wants us to love and care for ourselves}
“Or didn’t you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit? Don’t you see that you can’t live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let people see God in and through your body.”
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 MSG
{we must tend to our physical bodies because we are the mobile temples of the glory and holiness of God and we are to bring glory to him in all that we do so self care is essential}
